This artwork was originally created by request of Lane (Oveja Negra's cofounder) for her 40th birthday...a birthday shared with Brink.  There is A LOT going on and each element has significance.  Read the deets below to be in the know:

• A campout at the base of our iconic Tenderfoot Hill (aka "S Mountain"), along the Arkansas River, and under the star pattern of October 24th, 2021 (Lane and Brink's shared birthday)
• Esse quam videri meaning "To be, rather than to seem" wrapped around a Dogwood blossom is Brink's hometown state of North Carolina's motto and flower.
• Animis opibusque parati meaning "Prepared in mind and resources" wrapped around a Yellow Jasmine is Lane's hometown state of South Carolina's motto and flower.
• Cowboy? Cowgirl?  Cowperson?!  Nah, it's you, it's me, pushing ourselves, faltering, but always, eventually, getting back up again!  But, that bike?  It's Lane's steel, Black Sheep whip!
• Here's what Brink had to add... one of my favorite elements are the 6 snakes. I was flagging the final layout of a trail system in Southern Colorado that included maze like terrain and kept stumbling upon a group of a half dozen rattlesnakes, day after day, in exactly the same spot. Eventually they became a landmark of sorts that helped keep my bearing while navigating the often confusing maze like terrain. I sat near them several times to eat lunch, replenish calories, quench a desert induced thirst and to watch them watch me.  Ultimately I modified the alignment of a trail as to not disturb what was obviously a significant spot for the serpents.
